Working under the guidance and management of a Qualified Teacher, Acorns Preschool Management Committee believe that the children maximise their Early Years experiences with an enthusiastic, permanent team around them. The Acorns Team are continually supported in updating their skills, training and qualifications (all staff are DBS checked) in order to provide a rich and varied curriculum for our children.

Preschool Manager
Designated Safeguarding Lead
Karoline joined the Acorns Team in March 2019 as the Preschool Manager and the main contact for parents at Acorns.
Karoline is a mum to 2 boys and loves spending her free time outdoors camping, tree climbing or heading up mountains. She is also a bit of a bookworm and loves nothing more than getting cosy with a cup of tea and a good book in the evening. Having qualified as a teacher in 2005, Karoline has been working with children and families in Schools, Preschools and Nurseries ever since. Over the past 3 years, Karoline has also been using her dance coach experience to run parent & toddler creative movement classes as well as training to become a Children’s Yoga Instructor too.
Karoline plays a very hands on role within the setting and loves planning activities for little acorns that reflect her wealth of experience. Karoline also plans and leads our Rising 5’s (Squirrels) sessions, introducing phonics and maths skills to those Acorns heading to school the following year.

Deputy
Early Years Practitioner Level 3
Special Educational Needs & Disabilities Co-ordinator
Alison (Ali) is a familiar face at Acorns having worked in the setting for over a decade, taking over the SENDCo role in March 2019.
As well as living a busy life as a mum of teenage girls, Ali enjoys taking walks with her two dogs and singing with a local choir. At Acorns, Ali is passionate about creating a sense of awe and curiosity for the children she works with, often bringing in items from her nature walks for the children to explore and investigate. She is also a keen Eco Supporter, helping the children to understand the importance of reusing and recycling to help our protect our environment.

Early Years Practitioner
Deputy Safeguarding Lead
Tanya joined in September 2018 whilst her eldest child prepared to start at school.
Prior to joining Acorns Preschool, Tanya worked as a manager in a large company, but becoming a mum to 2 boys changed her ambitions and she began her studies to qualify as an Early Years Practitioner. Alongside her work at Acorns Tanya is passionate about travelling and in her spare time can often be found relaxing with a book in a beautiful location. Tanya enjoys bringing this knowledge and understanding of the world to the activities she plans for Acorns children, particularly when it involves baking or cooking foods from around the world.
Kristy Piper
Senior Practitioner
Kristy holds a Level 4 qualification in childcare and joined Acorns in May 2021 with 20 years of experience in a variety of preschools and nurseries. As a busy mum to 2 girls and a dog she doesn’t get much time to relax but when she does, she loves to read. Kirsty loves bringing music and song to our preschool day. The Acorns love hearing and joining in with all of her songs.
Sammi Hubbard
Preschool Practitioner
Outdoor Learning Assistant
Sammi joined the team at Acorns in September 2022 after falling in love with the preschool when working with us to support a child with additional needs. Sammi has a fur baby and enjoys taking Koko for walks in the local countyside. She is currently developing her knowledge of outdoor learning to support the activities Acorns enjoy during our woodland sessions.
